If you want your children to explore the world of the Viking’s and our ancient ancestors look no further!

The School of Irish Archaeology combines a host of activities which are interactive and educational in a relaxed and fun environment.

The children will get to investigate and explore the past through creative and practical hands-on learning. SIA brings history to life while they also merge subjects such as geology, the landscape and the environment in a stimulating and exciting way!

The School of Irish Archaeology is proud to introduce our finest product the Big Dig! The replica ‘Viking House’ workshop and excavation is designed around children from 5 – 12 years of age.

As they dig through the site, children will unearth Viking treasures and artefacts dating back 1,000 years. They will learn about the lives of our Viking ancestors as history is brought to life by qualified archaeologists. These educational workshops offer a unique experience that will leave your children fascinated by our ancient ancestors and eager to learn more.

The Big Dig is a fully mobile construction which can be booked for any location within Ireland and is also perfect for corporate, social, family or heritage events.
